Dreams in Glass: Sini Majuri’s Exhibition in Murano

07/08/2024

In the relentless march of digital innovation, Finnish glass artist Sini Majuri blends artificial intelligence with the ancient art of glassmaking. Her avant-garde project developed in partnership with Aalto University engineers melds glass and AI to visualize dreams. Join us in SpazioB, Murano for the opening on September 14th 2024!

Dreamweaver - Confronting Digital Realities

In our hyper-connected world, everything is filtered. We cling to technology like an infant to its mother, seeking comfort. Yet, technology also tears away these masks, when generative AI is exposing the raw, unfiltered truths of our time. It compels us to face societal stereotypes before we have the chance to self-censor.

The interdisciplinary team includes Jarkko Takala, Tung Bui, Ken Burridge, and Vivienne Wang from Aalto University.

In collaboration with Essis by Lasilinkki, Majuri introduces large, rainbow-colored unicorn glass panels, projecting dreams into the space. Sculptures also have genuine Lapland gold leaf from Kultaus Snellman - to merge fantasy with luxury, while highlighting ethical concerns around gold extraction.

Opening Party and Artist Encounter

Mark your calendars for Saturday, 14 September, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM for the opening party. Witness firsthand the mesmerizing intersection of glass and AI.
